May 2019 Traditional Music Experience
Fife Festival of Music returned in May 2019 with another workshop for younger musicians.
This was a very successful Traditional Music event held on Sunday 19th May at Auchmuty High School.
Twenty six of the twenty seven entrant participants attended and were immersed in fiddle playing, singing, dancing and spoon playing. It was a day of fun and enjoyment for all those involved and appreciated by parents and others who attended for the last 30 minutes to hear the day's work on display.
The event was led by Ian Adamson, Paul Wickham and Davy Lees who all shared their professionalism and excitement about the music. In addition, Cameron Adamson and Callum Johnston supported the teaching and Callum's Mum Morag shared step-dancing with the young musicians, a first for most of them.
The event is part of FFoM's pursuit of encouraging young musicians in non-competitive, fully participative, ensemble events and was arranged as a partnership between and among Fife Festival of Music, Fife Council Instrumental Music Service and Fife Youth Music Activities Charitable Trust.
