Welcome to Fife Festival of Music
‘"The Fife Festival of Music is a fabulous event which has kept the flame of music burning brightly in the consciousness of Fife’s people, young and old alike, for the last forty years. It is one of the things that makes Fife special and such a brilliant place to live, work and grow up in."
Honorary President John Wallace CBE
It is with much regret that we bring you the very sad news of the death of the Festival's longtime Honorary President John Wallace. John, a former pupil of Buckhaven High School was a Fifer born and bred who never forgot his roots. As well as being an exceptional musician, player, and composer, he was passionate about music education. An outstanding trumpeter, he was an inspiration to thousands of students during his time as Principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Whether you are a young musician - in a school group or part of a community music ensemble, an adult musician, a teacher, a parent, an audience supporter or a willing donor, Fife Festival of Music has something for you!
Founded in 1981, the Festival exists to support and develop music making in the community across Fife. The Festival holds three main events during the year - in January/February, May and November. The first of those is the largest and busiest event of the year with two weeks of vibrant music making, both competitive and non-competitive, ranging from instrumental, through vocal to choral, with solo, duet, ensemble and large group classes available. Participants are invited to use the Festival platforms to display their talents. This Festival attracts people of all ages from nursery-aged pupils upwards and school and community groups alike. It takes place in various venues across Fife. In May, events are aimed at younger instrumentalists offering a Festival experience through group, non-competitive participation. In November, Fife Festival of Music holds a Family Funday of Music Making looking to attract new audiences and participants through family involvement in a fun day of music activities and performances. |
