For 2013, FFoM has revamped its activities: in January/February, the ‘usual’ competitive and non-competitive events, now styled the ‘A’ period, took place in Dunfermline, Cupar and Kirkcaldy. In May and for younger instrumentalists, four workshops were held in Cardenden attended by 240 participants playing wind, brass, string and percussion instruments.

On Sunday 24th November 2013, at Dunfermline High School, Fife Festival of Music will present its 2013 ‘C’ period event, a family fun-filled musical afternoon. FFoM will have its own stall promoting its existence in the music community of Fife.

‘Come and try’ workshop sessions will be available for samba, drum kit, ukulele, singing and music making for the young. There will be short performances by local music groups – Aberdour Flutes, Dunfermline Town Band Ensemble and Crossford Scottish Music Group - and the centre-piece will be a 45 minute family concert given by Travelling by Tuba. There will be face-painting, a quiz, colouring-in and the FFoM merchandise stall. The Community Use cafe will be open.

Doors open at 11.30am and the official opening will be at 12 noon by Provost Jim Leishman.

With support from Carnegie Dunfermline Trust and the Barbara McManus Memorial Fund, admission is free for all. Open to all ages, families, friends, parents, children (under 12s must be accompanied). ALL ARE WELCOME.
